Tailgate Pad & Truck Bed Protection Manufacturer

Padded tailgate pads and bike carriers for pickup trucks, developed for bike brands, distributors, fleet suppliers and private-label programmes. Built from your truck dimensions and bike count.

  • Manufacturing custom protective covers since 2009
  • Padded carriers, tarpaulin flap pads and strap systems made in-house
  • Project-based cooperation: quantity, sampling and delivery agreed per project

Tailgate Pad Range We Manufacture

Six directions in current production. Two things drive the design — how many bikes the pad must carry, and whether the truck side needs a soft face against the paint.

Universal 5-Bike Pads

Full-width pads sized for the common pickup tailgate, with room for up to five bikes and secure hold-down straps.

OEM & ODM Tailgate Pads

Developed to your specification — padding thickness, pad width, strap layout and branding set by the programme.

Premium Padded Carriers

Thicker padding and a reinforced face where the pad doubles as a bike carrier and takes repeated loading.

Wholesale & Bulk Programmes

Volume runs on a fixed specification, so every carton in the order matches the last one.

Tarpaulin Flap Pads

1000D tarpaulin pads with an extended flap that folds over the tailgate edge and protects the painted lip.

Non-Slip Strap Fit Pads

Adjustable strap systems and a non-slip underside, for trucks where the pad is fitted and removed often.

Constructions in current production use 1000D tarpaulin, PVC-faced and flannel-backed laminates, and closed-cell padding. Pad length, thickness, strap count and the choice of soft or hard face are confirmed per project.

Currently in production: tailgate pads we currently produce. If your range also covers the load area, see fender covers.

How The Pads Are Made

Cutting, padding, stitching and strap assembly happen on our own line. The pad is built to the truck bed width and the bike layout you are designing around.

Step 1

Sized To The Bed

Truck bed width and tailgate height set the panel dimensions before cutting starts.

Step 2

Panels Cut

Outer face, padding and liner are cut to the same pattern so the layers stay aligned.

Step 3

Padding & Straps

Padding is inserted, strap anchors are reinforced and the edges are bound.

Step 4

Checked & Packed

Each pad is checked for strap placement and finish, then packed flat in bulk or retail packs.

Founder, JK Covers

In the cover industry since 2000. Founded JK Covers in 2009 in Ningbo, where our cutting, stitching and screen printing lines still run today.

Branding and Private Label

Pads can carry your printed logo, woven labels and size marking, and can be packed under your own brand. Screen printing is done in-house, so artwork changes stay within the same project.

Our screen printing workshop

Customer artwork, logos and repeat prints are applied on our own screen printing line.

What To Send Us

The truck details are the main thing. Everything else can be settled as the project develops.

Truck bed width

The tailgate width and height, or simply the make, model and year of the truck.

Bike count and layout

How many bikes the pad must carry, and whether they hang over the pad or sit behind a flap.

A photo of the tailgate

A clear picture of the closed tailgate, including any existing liner or cover.

How a Tailgate Pad Project Runs

  1. Send the truck details, bike count and a photo of the tailgate.
  2. We propose pad thickness, face material and strap layout, with a quote.
  3. A sample pad is produced for your approval.
  4. Production follows the approved sample and artwork.
  5. Pads are packed flat — bulk cartons or printed retail packaging.

Padding thickness, strap count and packaging format are agreed per project rather than fixed in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many bikes can one pad carry?

Width follows the truck. Pads carrying up to five bikes are in current production; a higher count is a matter of pad width and strap layout rather than a different construction.

What stops the pad rubbing the paint?

The vehicle-side face. Flannel and soft laminated liners are used against finished paint, while tarpaulin faces are used where the pad also takes abrasion from the bikes themselves.

Do you make pads for a specific truck model?

Yes. Pads are made to the bed width and tailgate height you specify, which is why the make, model and year are worth sending at the start.

Can the pad carry our branding?

Yes. Printed logos, woven labels and retail packaging with your artwork are all part of the quotation.

Can we see a sample before ordering?

Sampling is part of the normal project flow and the pad is approved before production is scheduled.

How do we start?

Choosing a Tailgate Pad for Your Truck

Matching the pad to your bed width

Measure the tailgate width and the height of the panel so the pad covers the area bikes lean against. Note the shape of the top edge, including any handle or camera housing. A pad that follows this outline sits flatter and moves less.

How many bikes each pad carries

Pads are built around a number of bike positions, from single-bike versions up to larger multi-bike layouts. The number of bikes, their width and how they are spaced all affect the design. Tell us how many bikes you expect and we will plan the carrier.

Protecting tailgate finish and cameras

A padded backing keeps frames, pedals and straps away from the paint, while cut-outs leave room for handles and reversing cameras. Getting these openings right matters more than adding thickness. Describe your truck's features and we will build them in.
